History
As early as the 1970's, Jim Oliver began buying and renovating houses to use as rental properties. As time went on, projects became more involved and small renovations turned into large remodels. Somewhere along the line, Jim was introduced to the idea of building a new house from scratch and with the help of a friend and his son, Dave, the first Oliver home was built.
Several years later, one of Jim's rental properties burned and the restoration contractor was looking for a partner for new home construction. Jim and Dave spent time learning under their new parter, building six houses, before branching out on their own. In 1996, the Olivers left their other positions to pursue building full time. Since then, Oliver Construction has built over 150 homes in Oakland County.
Today, three generations of Olivers have their efforts focused on new construction in Berkley.
Our Team
Dave Oliver
Dave graduated from Michigan State in 1989. He spent seven years working in sales and property management while renovating and building his own houses before building full time. Today, he heads operations for Oliver Construction.
Jim Oliver
Jim served as general manager of JRE Tires for 25 years before going full time with Oliver Construction. He still manages rental properties and spends time on the job site with Dave and Adam with no intentions of fully retiring.
Adam Oliver
Adam spent his high school summers working for Oliver Construction. He moved on to Michigan State University where he received a BS in Construction Management in 2013. Upon graduating, he pursued an opportunity in Arizona to work for one of the country's largest homebuilders. In 2016, he moved back to Michigan where he now works alongside Dave daily and manages the office side of things.
Gary Mullen
Trim carpenter extraordinare, Gary, is responsible for all of the beautiful moulding and millwork in our homes.
Madelyn Oliver
Madelyn has been a part of Oliver Construction since college, playing various roles. Today, she works full time at a kitchen design studio and handles the design specifications for our spec houses on the side.
